R.A.D. Films was built from a combination of filmmaking, movement, mentorship, and a shared drive to create something meaningful.

Rylend and Zeek first met in the summer of 2021 when Rylend began taking parkour lessons at the gym Zeek worked at. What started as student and coach quickly grew into a mentorship, and by early 2022 Rylend had transitioned into private lessons and continued training directly under Zeek.

Around the same time, Zeek began fully pursuing his own parkour business, eventually expanding it into a growing coaching program where Rylend would later become a coach himself and eventually rise to Head Coach as the business continued to grow.

In the fall of 2023, after taking video production electives for two years, Rylend entered film school and fully committed himself to filmmaking. Over the next two years, he wrote, directed, filmed, edited, and acted in numerous short films while developing his style and creative voice.

That journey culminated in his capstone film, which earned awards for Best Directing and an international Grand Prix award (Best of Festival), along with multiple additional nominations including Best Editing.

Throughout this time, Zeek remained closely involved in Rylend’s creative growth. While mentoring and coaching alongside him, Zeek developed a growing interest in filmmaking and storytelling. As he began writing a book series, he gained a deeper understanding of dialogue, scene structure, and character writing. His involvement in film projects with Rylend eventually inspired him to begin training in lightsaber dueling and sword-fighting choreography, expanding his skills into action performance and stunt work.

Zeek officially stepped into the film world as the lead actor in Rylend’s capstone project, marking the point where both of their creative paths fully merged.

The name R.A.D. Films originally began as a school assignment. While creating a stop-motion project, Rylend used the opportunity to design a production logo and film intro. The name came from his initials: Rylend Asher Duve — R.A.D. Films.

After graduating film school and going through a major turning point in life, Rylend began looking for a more meaningful direction for both his skills and his future. Inspired by filmmaking communities and creative challenge content online, he realized there were very few creators approaching filmmaking in the way he envisioned. Instead of waiting for an opportunity, he decided to build something himself.

He reached out to Zeek, and together they began developing the vision for the R.A.D. Films YouTube channel.

As that vision grew, so did the realization that they could turn their combined skills into something bigger, not just creating films for themselves, but helping other people create their own moments, stories, and productions as well.

That idea became the foundation for the Your Movie Moment service and the beginning of R.A.D. Films as a full creative production company.
